We’re looking for a Tech Lead to join our Technology team, someone who wants to lead our development practice, manage a team, and set the technology direction of our products. Limio is a small, fast-growing company, and the Tech Lead will be expected to be hands-on, ship code, and care about making an impact.
Limio is an early-stage startup founded by Amaury de Closset and Daniel Morton, formerly of GoCardless (YC S11), Zuora, BCG and Three, and has raised $420,000 from fifteen fantastic entrepreneurs, including the founders of Gumtree, Entrepreneur First and Zephr, and top business angels from Episode 1 and Crane VC. We count the Economist, La Repubblica and Which? as customers.
The Role As the Tech Lead at Limio, you will play a crucial role in driving the technical vision and leading the engineering team. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to develop good development practices. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a talented group of engineers, provide mentorship to junior team members, and make critical decisions on complex technology issues
The core requirements of the position are:
- Management: Manage a team of talented engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. You will identify and address skill gaps within the team, fostering professional growth and career development opportunities.
- Technical vision: Drive the technical vision, roadmap, and strategy for our products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Development: Take a hands-on approach, actively contributing to the development process by writing code, reviewing pull requests, and resolving technical challenges.
- Architecture: Make fast and informed decisions on complex architecture issues, working closely with the team to implement efficient solutions.
- Best developer practice: Stay on top of best practices, applying them to improve our development processes and ensure technical excellence.
You will also be expected to:
- Support the business: Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Customer Success, to ensure we can meet customer’s expectations.
- Work with customers: Talk to the customers if senior technical guidance is required and appropriate, for example when adopting new frameworks.
- Help with support: Everyone at Limio, including the CEO and CTO, help with support.
The Technology Our applications use the following technology:
- Front-end: ES6, React, Redux, Gatsby
- Back-end: Node, Express, Lambda, Git, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB
- Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Mock Service Worker
- APIs: REST
- DevOps: AWS serverless technologies, Terraform, Docker
You should apply if
- Proven experience (5 years+) in Software Development. You should have reached the level of a Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, Architect or a similar senior role in a tech environment.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in programming frameworks and technologies used, preferably with React, Node, and AWS Services.
- Demonstrated ability to make fast and informed decisions on complex architecture issues with limited time and information.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Great problem-solving skills, relying on design documents and prototypes to support decision-making.
- Efficient, concise and to-the-point communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Not essential, but nice to have:
- You have experience working with a multi-tenant SaaS product.
- You have worked at or with enterprise customers.
Logistics Compensation is £75k to £105k depending on your experience. We strongly believe in shared success and you will receive a competitive stock option grant.

Our interview process consists of:
- An initial screening interview with a member of the team
- Technical interview

Our office is usually at London Bridge, a 5-minute walk from London Bridge station. We expect all employees to be in the office at least 2 days a week between Tuesday and Thursday.
