ABOUT THE SERVICE
We’re a fantastic family-run service with a real community focus based in Radstock. Our supported living facility focuses on supporting adults with learning disabilities, Autism and Mental health in an environment where they are encouraged to fulfil their full potential. Through a combination of 1-2-1 support, access to a specialist skills centre and community participation, service users are able to learn, develop and utilise new skills and embrace the opportunity to live as independently as possible.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a support worker to join our friendly and supportive team. You will be compassionate, patient and empathetic with a real desire to make a difference. Ideally, you will have some experience within the care sector however full training is provided so we are happy to consider candidates with no experience who can demonstrate a willingness to learn and a friendly, caring and resilient personality. Our service users like to be active and are encouraged to live as active a lifestyle as possible so you will be required to be out and about, whether at community centres or out and about in the local area.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
We offer a structured induction process with a combination of online and face-to-face training, with ongoing support as needed. We also provide the opportunity to undertake further training and RQFs to support your development.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP/COMMUNICATION
To work within an already established team.
To work in collaboration with other professionals ensuring good lines of communication, both written and verbal, thus ensuring a multi-professional concept of care is delivered.
To communicate effectively with clients and their families/carers in promoting an awareness and understanding of their individualised care and support plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience working with people with enduring mental health problems is an advantage.
Minimum 12 months of care experience preferred, all professional training and support will be provided.
A commitment to undertake appropriate training is essential.
The ability to work as part of a team, but also to work independently.
A commitment to working in a person-centred manner.
An understanding and commitment to the Mental Health Recovery model are an advantage.
An ability to work a range of hours including nights on a rotational basis.
A full clean driving licence is required.

Pay: £11.55-£14.45 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 39 per week
