Role – Senior / Youth Support Worker

We are looking for Senior Support Workers who are passionate about wanting to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be part of a team that delivers a high standard of support and care to our young people, promoting their education, self-care and resilience. Providing a nurturing home environment that gives them the stability needed to grow and achieve. As a member of the team, you will be provided with relevant training as well as group and 1:1 supervision.

As a children’s residential home, we require individuals to work flexibly to meet the children’s needs, this will include a combination of daytime, evening, nights, and weekend shifts on a rota basis.

This role is subject to an enhanced criminal records disclosure check.

About You:

Ideally, we are looking for individuals with experience in working with children and young people and who hold relevant professional qualifications. The Level 3 diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent is desirable and or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering community-based youth work. However, essential to the role is the enthusiasm and drive to invest in completing the Level 3 training within two years of working for us and a willingness to participate in continuous professional development. You will be required to have some understanding of safeguarding procedures to support and protect the children in our care against identified risks.

You will need to have a pro-active attitude, empathy, and a desire to promote the successes of the children in our care. You will need to be flexible, a team player as well as the ability to use your own initiative, whilst promoting the welfare and safety of our young people. Communication skills are a must have as building trusting and positive relationships with the young people is key to effectively engaging them in learning, activities and providing emotional support.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: £24,000.00-£29,191.00 per year

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
