Job Summary

In summary, the post holder will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our internally developed healthcare systems. You will be responsible for understanding user journeys and functional requirements, developing and implementing test plans and test cases, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Your role will involve collaboration with Business Analysts, Test Engineers, and Developers to maintain high-quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

Main duties of the job

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to comprehend user journeys and functional requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of the healthcare applications.
  • The post holder will develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases, ensuring coverage of all relevant scenarios.
  • Execute tests on various platforms and devices to validate the functionality of healthcare applications.
  • Create and maintain regression test packs to ensure that new updates do not adversely impact existing functionalities.
  • Support the test team in delivering QA responsibilities, fostering a collaborative environment for efficient testing processes.
  • Collaborate with developers to find solutions to challenges and actively contribute to the overall success of the projects.
  • Report progress and issues to the Test Manager, providing clear and concise updates on testing status.
  • Demonstrate the ability to detect and resolve issues promptly to ensure the reliability and functionality of healthcare systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest testing techniques and software, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Willingly acquire new skills that contribute to the enhancement of the QA team’s capabilities.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Professional Registration

Essential

  • Degree level or equivalent plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Previous experience in a QA role
  • Experience of writing test plans that cover functional and none functional scenarios
  • Experience of writing formal Test
  • Experience of logging and retesting defects in a defect management system.
  • Experience of Automation testing or willingness to learn.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment

Desirable

  • Experience of modifying/developing automation scripts
  • Experience of writing SQL
  • Experience of Automation testing
  • Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
