Applications are invited for the position of a Senior Clinical Fellow in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. The post is for an initial 12-month term.

We are offering a dynamic and highly rewarding position at Epsom & St Helier University Hospital NHS Trust, with exceptional opportunities for training in laparoscopic gynaecological surgery under the expert guidance of Mr. Haider Jan, a leading consultant at our accredited Endometriosis Centre.

Candidates will be expected to take part in clinical research in gynaecology and would be expected to lead on research projects and present findings at conferences.

This post is initially for 1 year, with the potential to extend to 2 years, providing you with invaluable hands-on experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery. You will hone your skills in a cutting-edge environment and be supported in your professional development as you grow into a highly proficient and sought-after surgeon.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop skills in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery.

In addition, the candidate will also have the opportunity to develop skills in outpatient hysteroscopy and gynaecological ultrasound as well as providing outpatient treatments such as polypectomy and endometrial resection/ablation techniques.

There is also ample opportunity to develop colposcopy training and BSCCP accreditation.

A key responsibility for the post holder will be required to continue coordinating the RCOG accredited Basic surgical skills course at Epsom.

The successful candidate is expected to complete the RCOG Advanced Training Skill Module (ATSM) in Benign Abdominal Surgery open and laparoscopic during the year. Please refer to the RCOG ATSM requirements.

Candidates will only be considered if they have completed MRCOG and are equivalent to Senior Registrar level ie (ST6 or above).
