Pharmacist – South London & Surrey Borders

Location: South West London, Greater London
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking qualified and GPhC-registered pharmacists to join our client’s team in the South London and Surrey Borders area. As a pharmacist, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting clinical outcomes, and contributing to the overall operation of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescription Review & Dispensing: Ensure the accuracy and safety of patients’ prescriptions, checking for potential drug interactions and contraindications.
  • Legal Compliance: Oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, including reviewing medication labels, doses, and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Secure and manage controlled drugs, track inventory, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Team Supervision & Training: Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and assistants.
  • Patient Counseling: Advise patients on the proper use of prescribed medications, including discussing potential side effects and drug interactions.
  • Healthcare Services: Provide wellness and health screenings, such as blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screenings, PGDs, and vaccine administration.
  • Operational Management: Manage the pharmacy’s budget, inventory, and staff performance.
  • Continuous Development: Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical products, technologies, and regulations to provide optimal patient care.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Communicate with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and treatment plans.

Technology & Support:

Our client prioritizes investing in advanced automation systems (e.g., Monitored Dose Systems) to enhance patient care. These systems allow pharmacists to focus on providing clinical support and improving customer service. New hires will undergo comprehensive induction training to learn how to efficiently operate within this tech-driven environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s in Pharmacy (preferred)
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a community pharmacy (preferred)
  • Licensure: GPhC Registration (required)
  • Eligibility for Tier 2 Sponsorship: Available for qualified pharmacists
  • Location: Ability to reliably commute or relocate to South West London, Greater London (preferred)
