Mechatronics Technician

Electron Beam Section – Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Group

Salary: Min £24,387 – Max £36,580

We are seeking a self-motivated Mechatronic Technician/Senior Technician with experience across electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and process developments and applications of electron beam welding, additive manufacture and surfacing; including the use of various laser systems, and state of the art equipment. The diversity of industrial electron beam technology developed and delivered by TWI is globally unique making this an exciting career development opportunity.

Contributing to internationally renowned work on established and emerging electron beam techniques, you will enjoy responsibility for, and rapidly gain experience in, these areas. You will strengthen the capabilities of a knowledgeable, innovative and welcoming team by taking on responsibilities including the full working knowledge and programming of our electron beam equipment, laboratory experiments, and maintenance of equipment and involvement in design and development of jigs, fixtures. You may also be involved in delivery of welding/processing development projects.

Travel:

This position will require occasional travel.

Security clearance:

Project scopes dictate the need for a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, this is the recognised standard for pre-employment screening of individuals with access to government information. The ability to attain higher level security clearance will be beneficial to ensure involvement in a wide range of projects.
