Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our team based in Shoreditch. As a Junior Systems Administrator at Razorpoint, you will provide support for the management, configuration, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. This hybrid role offers a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration, giving you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network equipment.
  • Support daily operations and perform routine checks on systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues reported by users.
  • Monitor system performance and perform regular backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Help with user account management, including creating, modifying, and disabling accounts as needed.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes to maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on projects and improvements to infrastructure and processes.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices in systems administration.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of Windows and Linux server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, hardware, and configuration (e.g., routers, switches).
  • Knowledge of system monitoring tools and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of systems administration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (or in progress).
