Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Monitor and record patients’ health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Utilise IT systems for documenting patient information and communicating with the healthcare team effectively.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Previous experience in home care or care home settings is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is an advantage.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting patients when necessary.
- Strong IT skills to manage documentation and communication efficiently.
- A compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills is crucial for building rapport with patients.
