Our start up company is currently seeking a professional Head Chef to oversee all aspects of the kitchen staff, in our second location in Easton. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and creative Head Chef who has a thorough understand of the menu. We specialise in South Indian dishes, including dosa, idli and vada and are specifically looking for a chef with experience in this field.

The Head Chef is also responsible for hiring and overseeing the work of kitchen staff, as well as keeping up with food costs, meal preparation, product quality and safe food handling guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the position

o To oversee entire production of menu within the centralised kitchen, working alongside executive to ensure targets are reached.

o Control costs, minimise and manage food ordering, wastage, demonstrating correct storage and organisation.

o To manage kitchen brigade and delegate accordingly to ensure smooth running of BOH operations

o To liase with management to ensure all customer orders for shop sales and outdoor catering orders are fulfilled to company standards, any complaints are dealt with effectively.

o To ensure quality and quantity as per specifications and recipes are met and to ensure that any staff handling food also meet this standard at all times.

o To assist with growth of the business in alignment with its definite chief aims, by scaling up production as required for future business ventures with PAPPU Dosa.

o Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional South Indian dishes and their preparation methods.

o Ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills at all times and carry out weekly stock taking.

o To follow recipes and product standards, specifications, portion sizes and presentation as per company guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,719.00-£30,391.00 per year
