Unity Health Care Solutions Ltd
Job Summary
We seek a compassionate Domiciliary Care Worker to join our friendly team and provide essential care and support to individuals who need that little help to live their lives to the fullest.
Most importantly, this role involves having a mindset that aligns with our company values. If you can look at a stranger and care for them as if they were your relatives, you have what it takes to be exceptionally successful in this job.
We also provide sponsorship for candidates who are already living in the UK.
Our Values
Compassion:
· We provide care to our service users in a kind and caring way, addressing their needs in a personalised manner. We value the things that matter to them.
Communication:
· We truly believe that good communication is the key element to providing person-centred care. Communication with service users and those involved in their care, such as their families, social workers, doctors, nurses, care workers, etc., is at the heart of ensuring that the service we provide meets the standard expected from us.
· We ensure that our staff is fluent in English and that they can communicate in a respectful and easy to understand way. They are also confident in communicating in various ways to promote effective communication between them and service users.
Resilience:
· We recognise that coping under pressure is a key factor in retaining the workforce and ensuring quality care. We support our staff through their journey of developing their resilience by building positive workforce cultures.
Privacy & Dignity:
· We focus on every service user as an individual with their own views, beliefs, and choices, and we respect them regardless of our own views. When providing care, we treat our service users with dignity and always make sure they feel comfortable with the service they are receiving.
Openness & Honesty:
· We uphold an open and honest approach across everything we do. We provide the service we said we would, and we are honest if we are unable to accommodate any of the services.
· We always work hard to provide top-quality service. However, if we get something wrong, we will admit to it, learn from that experience and make changes to improve future service provision.
· We believe in an “open door” approach where our staff can talk to their seniors and share their thoughts. We strive to employ care workers who have the courage to take responsibility or to speak up if something goes wrong and are willing to learn from those situations.
Caring with a smile:
· We believe that smiling helps everyone feel better about themselves and others as well as helps to build better relationships. We know that sometimes our staff are the only people that service users will see for many hours. That’s why we always strive to recruit staff with a positive attitude and ability to brighten up our service user’s day.
Empowerment:
· We encourage service users to have as much control over their lives as possible, and where it is a service user’s wish, we work with them and other stakeholders to improve their independence.
Responsibilities:
· Providing personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
· Assisting with meal preparation and feeding
· Administering medication as prescribed
· Supporting clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving when required
· Ensuring a clean and organised living space for clients
· Collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
Requirements:
· Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is advantageous.
· Ability to learn from and reflect upon care activities undertaken, including accepting feedback, learning from mistakes, knowing when to seek help and support
· Strong communication skills and empathy towards others
· Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding
· A valid driver’s licence and business-class insurance
· Ability to function well in a team environment, recognising the needs of others as well as oneself
We care for our staff as much as we care for our clients.
