Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. Your primary focus will be on supporting individuals with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver personalised care plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Follow individual care plans and document any changes in residents’ conditions or needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required.
- Utilise IT systems for recording care notes and updating resident information accurately.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in care provision.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with residents and colleagues.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
- Familiarity with creating or following care plans is beneficial.
- A caring and patient attitude towards individuals requiring assistance.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are preferred.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development within the healthcare sector.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.44-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
