Job summary

UHB has an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to provide inspiring and creative leadership to the Occupational Health team. As Service Manager you will work with the Director of Occupational Health and Lead Nurse to lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of an excellent service. And develop and implement strategic plans for the OH service to ensure services provided are progressive and responsive to internal and external demand, are focused, safe, efficient, and effective.

You will promote innovation and creativity across the team, exploring new ways of working and growing the Occupational Health Service for the future to ensure the provision of a physically and psychologically safe work environment that aligns with the Trust’s overall strategy and plans.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

Deliver strong, visible, and autonomous leadership and management within the area of responsibility, ensuring clear communication and robust implementation of policy, clinical standards, business objectives and agreed targets.

Responsible for the development of the OH&WB services, ensuring activity achieves improvement in staff health and wellbeing.

The post-holder will be responsible for leading the operational management and development of the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services and will be accountable for the development and implementation of strategic plans for the OH&WB service to ensure services provided are progressive and responsive to internal and external demand, are focused, safe, efficient, and effective.

To ensure a high quality, value for money service and to improve and promote best practice in OH&WB on the basis of research, evidence and evaluation.

Foster productive, collaborative relationships with service leads across the Trust to promote a strategy of health, work and well-being both within the Trust and wider system.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent post graduate level qualification/training/experience to master’s level or equivalent experience within Health service management dealing with change management and service improvement planning.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
