Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle systems and components, demonstrating the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues. The Automotive Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and performance of our customers’ vehicles while providing excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and necessary repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle’s condition and required services.
• Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous professional development.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are advantageous but not mandatory.
• A valid driving licence is required; additional qualifications such as an MOT tester certificate would be beneficial.

Pay: £12.50-£18.00 per hour
