We are looking for 2 motivated and empathetic Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our highly skilled Therapy team at HOLLANDEN PARK HOSPITAL IN HILDENBOROUGH, NR TONBRIDGE, KENT.
Reporting To: Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist
Department / Area: Operations – Allied Health Professions
Band / Pay Rate: Broadly equivalent to NHS Band 6 per annum, pro- rata and based on experience
Days / Shifts: Days – Working 5 days out of 7
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview
You will comprehensively assess, plan and implement therapeutic interventions for patients with acquired neurological conditions and disabilities across various pathways including acute neurorehabilitation, neurobehavioral management and rehabilitation, complex care, and assisted independent living. You will work closely with patients and their families to design and deliver effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
You will also support less experienced colleagues, and the wider staff group, to provide a consistent therapeutic and rehabilitative approach for our patients
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional and cognitive abilities.
Develop and implement individualised care plans, management strategies, clinical goals, and evidence-based therapy plans, to address patients’ goals and needs.
Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.
Educate patients and their families on strategies and adaptive techniques to enhance independence.
Manage a caseload independently with supervision from the Lead OT.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including liaising with community teams and equipment providers, and to contribute to the discharge planning.
Ensure all clinical records are accurate, up-to-date and maintained to the HCPC and RCOT standard.
Framework and Boundaries
The post holder will report to the Clinical Lead for Physiotherapy, and work collaboratively within the integrated multidisciplinary teams to offer a comprehensive, patient-centred service
There is no budgetary responsibility with this position.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Current registration with the RCOT and HCPC with evidence of CPD and continued learning.
At least 2 years experience in relevant setting with experience in neurology, specialist rehab, and/or complex care.
Experience in delivering evidence-based practice, following best practice guidelines, using assessment tools and providing outcome measures.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards of professional practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary and/or Interdisciplinary teams.
Experience of training, supporting and/or mentoring others.
Compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.

Pay: £37,338.00-£44,962.00 per year
