Salary: £45000
Visa sponsorship available for qualified Occupational Therapists with relevant mental health experience

Occupational Therapist – the role:
We are seeking an energetic and motivational Occupational Therapist – Mental Health to join our multidisciplinary team across our North London homes.
This in-house role focuses on delivering therapeutic engagement programmes that support resident well-being across core pillars: Movement, Nutrition, Relaxation, all underpinned by Purposeful Activity.
We are looking for an individual who brings clinical skill and creativity — someone who can energise residents, inspire participation, and embed meaningful activity into everyday life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver therapeutic programmes that motivate and empower residents towards recovery and autonomy.
- Facilitate 1:1 and group sessions supporting daily living skills, social engagement, and purpose-building.
- Conduct functional assessments and contribute to care planning with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Promote good practice across the four pillars of well-being: movement, nutrition, sleep, and relaxation.
- Encourage a vibrant environment where residents are inspired to participate in meaningful activities.
- Support and coach care staff to integrate purposeful engagement into daily routines.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary reviews and reports.
- Embrace digital tools to enhance documentation and free more time for human connection.
- Contribute ideas and leadership to our service development initiatives based on recovery-focused, trauma-informed care.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Degree or Master’s in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration (or eligibility)
- 6+ months post-qualification experience (mental health preferred)
- Ability to motivate, engage, and energise residents through activity-based interventions
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and occupational therapy frameworks
- Creative, flexible, and strengths-based approach
- Comfortable working collaboratively within multidisciplinary settings
- Basic digital documentation skills
Desirable:
- Experience in residential mental health, supported living, or recovery services
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, neurodiversity, or forensic mental health
- Familiarity with outcome measures (e.g., MOHO, COPM)
- Experience coaching support staff or activity teams
- Interest in service innovation and co-production approaches
