Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Jewellery Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will combine their technical skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create exquisite and innovative jewellery pieces. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a deep understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed 3D models of jewellery pieces using software such as Rhino, Matrix, or JewelCAD;
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and unique jewellery collections; Translate sketches and ideas into precise designs that meet design specifications and quality standards;
  • To understand the practical aspects of jewellery manufacturing, ensuring designs are feasible and production-ready;
  • Submits the design to production teams or client for approval, explains the reasoning behind the design and modify designs based on feedback from clients and production teams;
  • Assist in the prototyping and production process, providing technical support to ensure the final product meets the highest standards of craftsmanship;
  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques;

Market Research & Trend Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies to incorporate into designs.
  • Participate in design competitions and exhibitions to showcase innovative designs and enhance the company’s portfolio.

Documentation & Record Keeping:

  • Maintain organized records of all designs, modifications, and client communications.
  • Ensure all designs are documented for future reference and production needs.


  • Education: Degree or diploma in Jewellery Design, CAD, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in jewellery CAD design and goldsmithing.


  • Strong understanding of jewellery manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Creative and artistic with an eye for detail and precision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
  • Knowledge of gemstones and setting techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes in jewellery manufacturing.

Salary: £40,500 per annum , working 37.5 hours per week.

  • Torquay: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
