Purovets have an exciting opportunity for an ophthalmologist to join the certificate-led referral team at an RCVS-accredited hospital in Leicestershire. The role requires a combination of consulting and surgery. The ophthalmology service is well-established with a large network of clients, performing a wide-range of ophthalmology surgeries including cataract surgery.

The successful candidate will have completed a certificate in ophthalmology with advanced practitioner status preferred. You should work well in a team and be keen to support others in their development and learning in relation to ophthalmology. The practices in the groups are run independently and see their own varied caseloads. They have certificate holders in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and emergency critical care. They also have a dedicated 24/7 emergency hospital service at the hospital.

You will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic, large team of vets across the sites. There is also an experienced nursing team (including two surgical diploma holders) & a wonderful client care team. The team enjoys socialising events outside of work when possible. It is fair to say that they all get on well as a team and enjoy their working days together. They have a real team spirit, and any new associates will be warmly welcomed.

The practices are well equipped with digital x-ray, quality ultrasound, dental equipment, in house labs, dedicated operating theatres, and carry out all standard primary care procedures daily. The Tier 3 RCVS accredited Hospital has all this plus; CT machine, video endoscopy, ASIF kit, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope, arthroscopy, Phacoemulsification and advanced ophthalmology equipment, dedicated 24 hour nursing and vet teams, and much more.

In your spare time, there is a lot to enjoy locally. Based in the wonderful city of Leicester, which is the largest city in the East Midlands, with excellent travel links, access to good schools and beautiful countryside. Leicester is a modern city steeped in years of history and there is lots to do locally whether you enjoy the great outdoors or prefer the hustle and bustle of the city.
