Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled brick layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in bricklaying, with the ability to work on various construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The candirate will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, chimneys, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and plans.
- Mix mortar and prepare surfaces for bricklaying.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut and shape materials.
- Ensure structures are level, plumb, and square by using appropriate measuring tools.
- Repair or replace damaged bricks or masonry structures as needed.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and welders, to ensure project completion.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings related to masonry work.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (saws, drills).
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials related to masonry.
- Ability to weld is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
- A valid driver’s licence may be required for travel between job sites.
- A background in carpentry can be advantageous.

Pay: £15.00-£30.00 per hour
