About the role

This role supports existing and future investments in automation by facilitating the evolution of scholarship in automation-coordinated design This role will draw on a broad range of manufacturing expertise and experience to provide day-to-day support for all activities in B-made. The primary focus will be supporting users in accessing the capabilities of our Numerically Controlled assets. You will run and maintain our current suite of Haas brand 3 axis, 5 axis and Turn-mill machines and a Felder brand panel router. The core support you will offer will range from: Consultation in intelligent design for NC manufacture, CAM Guidance and file checking, machine inductions and supervision. This role supports Teaching and Research initiatives in B-made and across the Faculty and will also develop Health and Safety and other strategic departmental and cross faculty goals. About you

The successful candidate should have extensive, demonstrable experience in the field of design and manufacture with a specialism focussing on the use of NC machinery and CAD/CAM software. You will have a repertoire of complementary skills that expand your value across our other B-made disciplines such as metalworking, woodworking, ceramics, etc. Experience of working in higher education is a plus but not mandatory.
